Sherry L. Hicks, 69, of Greenwich, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023, at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Sherry was born Oct. 2, 1954, in Norwalk, one of eight children born to Stonewall and Bertha (Blair) Oney. She grew up in the Greenwich area and attended South Central High School.

Sherry was the beloved wife of Larry Hicks, whom she married Nov. 3, 1973. Together, they filled their home with many memories centered around love. Sherry enjoyed fishing, bird watching, puzzles, visiting Amish country, and camping. She was a collector of many things including beanie babies, shoes, clothing, and purses. She loved caring for her family and cooking for them. Sherry could often be found tending to her flower beds and gardening.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Larry; children, Crystal (Robert) French and Jason (Dana) Hicks; grandchildren, Madison French, Kyser French, Tayson French, Nathan Meyers, Isaiah Hicks, Paige Singer, Jennifer Singer, and Olivia Hicks; great-grandchildren, Emorie Carpenter and Jackson Singer; and sister, Roberta Whitaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stonewall and Bertha Oney; son, Joshua Hicks; and siblings, Marcella King, Mary Ellen Oney, Charles Oney, David Oney, Deborah Tuttle, and Earnest "Rudy" Oney.

Visitation for friends and family will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2023, and 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, until the time of Sherry's funeral at 2 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main Street, Greenwich, Ohio, 44837. Burial will follow at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery.
