Shirley V. (Adkins) Sikora, 65, of Norwalk, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024, at her residence.
She was born June 6, 1958, in Lorain, to Fred and Isolene Adkins. She was a graduate of Huron High School and received a bachelor's degree in American history from Cleveland State University. She enjoyed working at Oberlin College for many years and especially connecting with the students in the Student Union Hall where she worked. She enjoyed crocheting and making blankets for her family and friends. She attended family reunions for many years in Kentucky and was a special aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She was a great sister and friend to all.
She is survived by her husband, James M. Sikora, to whom she married in Oct., 1999; siblings, Dwight Adkins, Cecil (Debbie) Adkins, Freddy C. Adkins, and Ida (Larry) Barnhart; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Gregory E. Adkins, Timothy A. Adkins, and Donald McDaniel.
Celebration of life visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Private interment will be at a later date.

Shirley was a highlight of my Oberlin career. She was certainly the person I raced to hug every time I returned to Oberlin. Even though she called me "Paully" I cherished her greeting and her friendship. We worked together at the Sco and I cannot imagine the place without her. The Sco and the world was a better place with Shirley - a void has been formed.

Some of my favorite memories from college involve hanging out with Shirley and knitting together while we checked IDs at the Sco. I think of her often and will miss her dearly.
