Harold Baaske Jr., 94, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday evening, March 5, 2026, surrounded by his family and into the loving arms of Jesus.

Harold was born on January 7, 1932, in Sandusky, to Harold and Vanessa (Werner) Baaske Sr.

On September 22, 1951, he married the love of his life, Barbara, and together they shared more than 72 wonderful years of marriage. Harold was known for his strong faith and the honesty and integrity with which he lived his life. Family was always his priority, and he led a life of service and devotion and was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church. He graduated from Sandusky High School and enjoyed meeting his classmates for lunch. Harold worked at Routh Packing for many years before retiring from New Departure. Harold was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. Harold especially enjoyed visiting downtown Sandusky and stopping by Mr. Smith's Coffee Shop for lunch and socializing with his family and friends.

Harold is survived by his six children, Debbie (John) Rosenstock of North Carolina, Pam Frisch of Fremont, Vicki (James) Matheson of Sandusky, Kim (Mark) Harrington of Milan, Harold (Carmen) Baaske of Washington, and Amy (Keith) England of Amherst. He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren, Kelly, Katie, Elizabeth, Krista, Bridget, Mary, Jim, Abby, Kit, Mike, Meghan, Chris, Lindsey, Amanda, Ashley, Danny, and Alexis; 19 great-grandchildren; close friends, Judy Mears and Jon Carver,;as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Harold will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lee (Hemmer) Baaske, in 2023; siblings, Lois Yeager, Marge Pressler, Joan Weber, and Barbara J. Baaske; and son-in-law, Larry Frisch.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave. Sandusky, with Pastor Michael Conklin presiding. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. A luncheon at Zion Lutheran Church will follow the burial.
