Roger W. George, 79, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center. He was born June 22, 1945, to the late James and Ethel (Weber) George in Rushville, Indiana.
Roger was a graduate of Rushville High School and attended Johnson Bible College, where he met his wife of 59 years, Carol (Flatt) George. He served as a minister for over 60 years and was a member of First Church of Christ in Norwalk. Roger completed two Fame World Mission trips to Haiti and the Dominican Republic, where he shared his love of the Gospel with others. He was also a member of Huron County Right to Life and the Republican Party. In his spare time, he enjoyed tending to his garden, watching and cheering on Norwalk High School Basketball team, and his most cherished time was spent with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol George; his children, James (Kimberly) George, Janis George, and Joyce George; his siblings, Dennis (Kathy) George, James (Janet) George, and Robert George; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; his son, Andy George; sister, Donna Raginski; and brother-in-law, Tom Raginski.
Friends and family may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main St. Visitation will also take place from 11 a.m. until time of 12 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery following the conclusion of the service.

I have always loved Pastor George and his wife Carol. He and Carol came to Twilight Gardens Nursing Home every third Sunday and gave a Sunday Service for a great many years. They were beloved by everyone. He had great wisdom in knowing how to talk to people. God bless Carol and the family.
