Robert "Bob" Windnagle, 83, of Norwalk, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023, at Continuing Health Care of Milan.

Bob was born Jan. 20, 1940, in Sandusky, the son of Ernest P. and Helen (nee Lamb) Windnagle. Bob proudly served in U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

Following his time in the Army, Bob worked on freighters on Lake Erie, then repairing boats before taking a job with Janesville. He retired in 2006 after 20 years. In life, Bob was most proud of his son, Jeffrey, who died in 2011. He also enjoyed visiting his brother and helping to take care of others. Bob enjoyed collecting music, especially Fred Astair and Gene Kelly. At one time, he owned a boat and enjoyed going to Kelly's Island and Put-In-Bay.

Bob is survived by a brother-in-law, Frank Vaccaro; sister-in-law, Peggy Windnagle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeffrey E. Windnagle; and siblings, John Windnagle, Walter Windnagle, Earnest Windnagle, Martha Vaccaro, and Marilyn Borgeson.

A graveside service will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
