Paul E. Steele, 94, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Providence Care Center after a brief illness.

He was born May 20, 1930 in Sandusky to Vernon "Ross" and Francis (Lively) Sloan.

Paul attended Sandusky High School. He was a veteran of the Air Force who proudly served his country, while stationed in Tokyo, Japan, from 1947-1950. He was employed at New Departure for seven years, then at Ford Motor Company for 29 years, until his retirement in 1991. Paul was a member of I.A.B. Club, AMVETS Post 17, and the V.F.W. Post 2529. In his spare time, he loved traveling, taking many trips with his wife and family, both domestic and abroad, especially his many trips to Hawaii. He loved spending time with his family the most, and in his younger years, he enjoyed working in the yard.

Paul is survived by his sons, Robert D. Steele, of Lancaster, Kentucky, Tim P. (Lynn Bragg) Steele, of Huron, and G. Scot (Kathy) Steele, of Dover; grandson, Gian Paul Steele, of Dover; siblings, Lowell (Anne) Sloan, Wilma Lewis, Dale (MaryAnn) Sloan, and Peggy (Ed) Laughman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Angello) Steele; sister, Jean Steele; brother, Vernon Sloan; stepfather, Richard Steele; and stepmother, Inez Sloan.

Friends may call from 11-1 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Memorial services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
