Norma Jean Pope, 95, of Greenwich, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023.

A lifelong resident of Greenwich, Norma was born Nov. 11, 1927, to Adrian and Wilma (nee Wolfe) DeWitt. She graduated from Greenwich High School and worked at Shelby Air Force Depot as a secretary for many years.

Norma cherished time spent with her family. She was an avid supporter of her husband and son's racing careers and loved watching her grandkids play sports. She and her husband enjoyed spending their winters in Florida. Norma hosted many family holidays, Sunday dinners, and pool parties at her home. She looked forward to her weekly hair appointments and took pride in tending to her beautiful flower beds.

Norma is survived by her children, Gary Pope and Becky (John) Dendinger of Greenwich; grandchildren, Clay (Aimee) Pope, Doug (Jess) Dendinger, Jared Pope, and Ty (Lynn) Dendinger; great-grandchildren, Corah, Chesnee, Cayle, Jaxon, Avery, Peyton, Adrienne, Layne, Jordyn, and Jayme; one great-great-grandchild on the way; sister-in-law, Patricia Entler; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Pope; grandson, Gy Dendinger; and brother-in-law, Philip Entler.

A private family gathering took place and interment will be at Edwards Grove Cemetery at a later date.
