MaryAnn (Betzel) Fox
Aug 19, 1931 - Apr 15, 2023
Sandusky
With much sadness, the family of MaryAnn (Betzel) Fox, 91, of Sandusky, announces her passing late Saturday morning, April 15, 2023, at Providence Care Center, Sandusky.
MaryAnn was born Aug. 19, 1931, in Lorain, to Frank and Mary Helen (Janik) Betzel. She graduated from Clearview High School, Lorain. She married the love of her life, Arnold J. Fox II on July 1, 1951.
During the first years of her marriage, MaryAnn lived as a Marine wife in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She and Arnie then moved their family to Randallstown, Maryland, for 10 years. Upon moving back to Ohio in 1963, MaryAnn worked for Sears Department Store, Sandusky. Starting in 1979, she worked as a teacher's aide then secretary at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School. Then from 1990-2001, MaryAnn and Arnie moved to
Port Charlotte, Florida. Those were the best years of her life. When her husband, Arnie, passed in 2001, MaryAnn moved back to Sandusky.
To MaryAnn, nothing could be better than being with those she loved. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. MaryAnn was the absolute glue of her family and will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a woman of style, class, and grace.
Her love of the Lord began at an early age and her faith remained with her throughout her life. MaryAnn was an active member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church to which she was a Holy Eucharist Minister and distributed for many years to those in the hospital. She was also a member of Altar Rosary Society and past President. For many years, she volunteered at Merry-Go-Round Museum, Firelands Health Gift Shop, and Care & Share. In April, 2014, she was presented with the "Women of Excellence" Award for her dedication to volunteering. She firmly believed that it is in giving that you receive. Over the years, MaryAnn belonged to multiple card clubs. She was unbeatable in pinochle and mahjong.

Danville, California; seven grandchildren, Rachelle (Robert) Crabtree of Vermilion, Alison (Matt) Buirley of Galena, Troy Kastor of Columbus, Megan (Ryan) Leos of League City, Texas, Kyle (Paulina) Fox of Corte
