Louis H. "Corky" Penfield Jr., 86, of Sandusky, and formerly of Norwalk, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 21, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family. Born October 9, 1939, to Louis Henry and Madeline (Anderson) Penfield Sr., he graduated from Norwalk High School in 1957.

Louis worked as a delivery driver for Nickle's Bread for 30 years and then for the former Janesville Products. After retirement, he enjoyed working part-time at Goodwill.

Louis was always up to something. He enjoyed collecting antique bottles and conducting searches for buried objects with his metal detector. He was a fan of NASCAR races and had an incredible sense of humor; Louis was often laughing and telling jokes with family and friends. Most important to him was his family; he was a wonderful father to his five daughters and an adored grandfather to their children. Louis also enjoyed attending The Chapel in Sandusky.

Left to cherish Louis's memory are his daughters, Tisa (Mark) Baker, Brittany Penfield, Courtney (Romel Pool) Penfield, Haley Evans, and Kelsey Penfield; and 14 grandchildren, Kaylynn, Tashiya, Nori, Sky'ana, Brielle, Brayleigh, Oaklynn, Nayvie, Landyn, Coltyn, Rylee, Psalm, Kobee, Braylon, and Grace; and great-grandchild, Zy'air; brother, Tom ( Sandy) Penfield of Chicago; and cousin, Jan Augenstein of Marion. Louis is also survived by his canine companion and best friend, Juice.

He was preceded in death by his parents and cousin, Paul Augenstein.

A celebration of life will take place from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Norwalk Reservoir Club House.
