Lester C. Tucker, 78, of Collins, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025, at Fairview Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born December 19, 1946, in Norwalk, to Charles and Mary (Schlachter) Tucker.

Lester graduated from Western Reserve, Class of 1965. He was a veteran of the Marines, stationed in Vietnam, who proudly served his country from 1966 to 1968. He received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He was a self-employed farmer his entire life with his father. Lester was a member of Norwalk VFW, Townsend Township Volunteer Fire Department for 38 years and various farming organizations throughout his life. He received the Community Service Award from Western Reserve Ruritan in 2007. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, playing euchre and tinkering with tractors and other mechanical devices.

Lester is survived by his wife, Catherine, whom he married February 7, 1970. He is also survived by his daughter, Sherry (Dennis Symons) Tucker-Naegele, son, Charles (Mitzi) Tucker; grandchildren, Trevor Tucker, Masyn Naegele, and Ethan Tucker; sister, Marcella (Bill) Kilian; sister-in-law, Celeste Tucker; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his brother, James Tucker.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2025, at Toft Funeral Home, Wakeman Chapel, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Toft Funeral Home, Wakeman Chapel, with Mel Sayler presiding. Burial will follow at Townsend Cemetery, Collins. A luncheon will follow for family and friends at Townsend Fire Hall.
