Jane Chime Obituary

Jane Anna "Boss" Chime

Jul 30, 1930 - Jan 20, 2023

Sandusky

On July 30, 1930, Albert Boss was summoned to come in from the fields; "The baby is coming!" Soon, Agnes Boss gave birth to a little girl, Jane Anna. As they were admiring her, the doctor remarked, "Hold on! There's another one coming!" And so it was that June Augusta was born, making Albert and Agnes the proud parents of twin girls. Jane and June grew up on the Boss family farm learning chores, working in the fields, adding two brothers along the way, Glen and Albert Jr. "Beaver" and enjoying their riding horses, Trigger and Champion (of course Jane always said her horse was faster and that they would outrun June and her horse every time!).

Later, both Jane and June traveled from their Graytown, Ohio, farm to work at the former Philco Company in Sandusky. It was there that Jane met a friend who introduced her to Don Chime, setting up a blind date for them. Romance grew quickly and Jane and Don were married May 12, 1956. The new Mr. and Mrs. Donald Chime became the parents of three little girls, Dawn Ohlemacher, Debra Chime, and Melanie (Ken) Forren. Through the years, Jane excelled at sewing, eventually becoming Head Seamstress for Cedar Point Amusement Park...that is, until seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren came along!

From that point on, Jane enjoyed being grandma, sewing doll clothes, and working in her beautiful flower gardens. Jane and Don were married for 57 years when Don preceded Jane in entering Heaven's gates Feb. 9, 2014. Jane left us here and joined him there Jan. 20, 2023, where we are sure there was a great pinochle game waiting just for her.
