Harold J. Lichtle, 102, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Tuesday afternoon, March 4, 2025, at his residence.
Born August 21, 1922, in New Riegel the son of Isadore Killian and Eulalia Mary (Imber) Lichtle. Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served honorably during World War II. He co-owned and operated Lichtle Builders with his brother George for many years before retiring.
Harold was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Post No. 83, V.F.W. Post No. 2529, AMVETS Post No. 17, and Sandusky Eagles Club Aerie No. 444.
He is survived by his children, Harold B. (Martha) Lichtle, Kenneth C. Lichtle, Linda M. Booher, all of Sandusky, and Jean A. (Ronald) Wittmer of Ft. Myers, Florida; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lillie Mae (Cooper) Lichtle (2019); a daughter-in-law, Teresa Lichtle; and 12 sisters and brothers.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until time of prayers at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday morning, March 12, 2025, at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, with the Rev. Monte Hoyles officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
