Arlene J. Horning, 88 (nee, Conrady) of Milan, Ohio, formerly of Norwalk, passed away peacefully Monday, April 20, 2026, at her home surrounded by family. Arlene was born in Mansfield, September 25, 1937, to Arthur J. and Lucille E. Conrady (nee Traxler). Arlene grew up in Mansfield and Amherst, married Charles H. Horning, October 22, 1961, and was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Arlene is survived by her children, Gloria Conrady, Shirley (Earl) Jenkins, Brenda (David) Kinnard, John Horning, Daniel (Cindy) Horning, Christine (Reed) Wheeler, and Steven (Karla) Horning; daughter in-law, Sylvia Horning; as well as several nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Lisa (Jason) Smith, Mathew (Andrea) Jenkins, Tom (Eliza) Jenkins, Michael (Karen) Horning, Christopher (Kenzi) Horning, Shawn Horning, Nick (Brittney) Kinnard, Amanda (Logan) Fultz, Jordan (Haly) Horning, Joshua Horning, Joshua Brown, Tori Richardson, and Steven (Nicole) Horning; plus 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Earl Wynn; brothers, Jim, Gale, and Tim; sister, Shirley Millner; Arlene's husband of 41 years, Charles H. Horning; son, Capt. Charles H Horning II; and grandson, Brandon Kinnard.

Arlene was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, coloring and playing cards. She worked at Moravian Villa in Milan, and worked alongside Charles at The Horning Pallet Company.

The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice and Fisher-Titus TCU for their loving and expert care.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Her funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery in South Amherst.
