Gerald F. "Jerry" Stoll, 82, of Sandusky, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 29, 2024, at The Meadows at Osborn Park, Huron.
He was born Oct. 7, 1941, in Norwalk, the son of Joseph Edward and Thelma Julia (Bishop) Stoll. Jerry was a 1959 graduate of Norwalk St. Paul Catholic High School and later graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He worked as a loan officer at the Home Savings and Loan in Norwalk and later for the First Federal of Lorain in Sandusky for many years before retiring in 2008.
Over the years, Jerry enjoyed golfing and bowling and was a member of the Knights of Columbus League. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 546, where he was very active and past Grand Knight. Jerry also volunteered for a number of charities, including Habitat For Humanity, Ohio Veterans Home, Erie County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Lorain Community College.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathleen R. "Kathy" (Hammersmith) Stoll, whom he married Sept. 10, 1966; his family, Alan (Cindy) Stoll of Sandusky, Julie (Sean Sullivan) Stoll of Stow, Marcia (Tony Gudwien) Stoll of Evanston, Illinois, Jeanne Hock of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Joseph (Jenny) Stoll of Lakewood; 10 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; two sisters, Marjorie "Marge" (Lewis) Enderle of Huron and Susan Scott of Franklin, Tennessee; and nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; son in infancy, James Stoll; and two brothers, Joseph and David Stoll.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, at the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Chris Turner will officiate. Private family burial will be at St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery in Peru, Ohio.
