Evelyn J. (Dilley) Johns, 86, of Gilbert, Arizona, and formerly of Collins, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023.

She was born Aug. 5, 1936, in Warren, to George and Marion (Miller) Dilley.

Evelyn graduated from Cortland High School and The Ohio State University. She was employed as a Home Economics Teacher at Western Reserve High School for 18 years. Evelyn was a member of First Congregational UCC, Berlin Heights, until her move to Arizona where she attended Dayspring UMC, Tempe, Arizona. In her spare time, she enjoyed preparing meals for her church dinners, 4-H activities, volunteering at nursing homes, and spending time with family especially her grandchildren.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Arthur (Nancy) Johns of N Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Cynthia (Blake) Sacha of Gilbert, Arizona; grandchildren, Charlton (Alyssa) Johns, Jesse Johns, Katherine Sacha, and Andrew (Courtney) Sacha; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her husband, Lawrence in 2014, and parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her sister, Mabel Osborn; and brothers, Robert and Glenn Dilley.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at First Congregational UCC, 5 E. Main Street, Berlin Heights. Evelyn's funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Robert Patton presiding. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Berlin Heights.
