Constance M. (Arnold) Smith, 90, entered into heavenly rest Wednesday, June 19, 2024.
She was born March 9, 1934, in Sandusky, to James and Christine (Woods) Arnold. Constance was a lifelong resident of Norwalk and Monroeville until 2006 when she moved to the state of Georgia. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1952.
Constance enjoyed gardening, upholstering furniture, and knitting and crocheting for friends and family. She worked for Norwalk Furniture, retiring after 30 years of service. She was an avid reader and often listened to her gospel music. She enjoyed traveling and keeping up with life events on social media. Most of all, Constance loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were able to gather with her and help celebrate her 90th birthday this past March.
Constance was a member of Warren Chapel and Norwalk Community CME Church and in Georgia, she attended Dixie Grove Baptist Church.
Constance's survivors include her children, Priscilla Debra Smith of Jonesboro, Georgia, Desiree Smith of Jonesboro, Georgia, Harold and Janice Smith of Norwalk, and Stephanie and Reggie Shine of Jonesboro, Georgia; grandchildren, Olivia and David Jones, Karla and Oliver Dilligard, Erica Stoll, Heather and Tyrone Shafer, Meagan Hunter, Cornell and Jordon Smith, Tyler Smith, Ian Hunter, Damien and Christina Hunter, Madison Hawkins, John Hawkins, Jamonica and Patrick Lee, and Caden Shine; and great-grandchildren, Sydnei, Jabez, Zane, Zaria, Ayden, Duke, Carter, Harper, Kenzie, Elena, Kamden, Maddox, Mason, Eian, Aubrey, Alana, Damian Jr., P.J., and Peyton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Christine (Woods) Arnold; loving husband of 52 years, Harold Smith; daughter, Denise; son, Douglas; brother, Delbert Woods; and sister, Dellene Oglesby.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the wonderful nurses at Bridgeway Hospice, especially to CNAs Rosalyn Johnson and Hope Cooley for their compassion and professionalism during Constance's journey and to the family during those final days. To friends and extended family, the family extends a thank you for the unwavering support, prayers, and kind words, which have been a beacon of light in the darkest hours. The visits, messages, and gestures of love have meant the world to them and have helped them navigate through the grief. Heartfelt thank you especially to Ben-Ahmad (Constance's beloved friend/son) and Ray Towns.

Like a hummingbird, you brought vibrancy and grace into our lives. We will carry your memory in our hearts always, cherishing the lessons you taught us and the love you showered upon us."
Visitation for friends and family will be 12 p.m. until the time of Constance's home going and graveside service at 1 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, 200 Woodlawn Ave., Norwalk. Burial will follow. Attendants are also invited to a repass following the graveside service at Constance's son's home, Harold Duane Smith, 71 State Route 61, Norwalk, Ohio, 44857.
