Charles "Chuck" Lindenau gained his eternal rest Saturday, April 6, 2024. He was a true born and raised in the little town of New London.
Chuck was born Oct. 21, 1936, at New London Hospital, and lived in New London his entire 87 years of life. Through the course of his time, he had several occupations, including owning what was once the Shell Station and Wrecker business. He is most known for his over 30 years of hauling water to his numerous customers. If he wasn't in his water truck, he was tinkering on his numerous cars or busy cutting wood. He never met a stranger that he was not willing to help. Most importantly, Chuck dedicated much of his later years to his Faith. He was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes choir, along with tasks throughout the Church. After any conversation with Chuck, he would always conclude with the phrase "Take care, be good, and may the Good Lord take a liking to ya."
He is survived by four children, Christopher Lindenau, Andrew Lindenau, Alexandria (Joseph) Hovatter, and Elizabeth (David) Dvorak; several grandchildren; and sister, Paulette Rawdon (Lindenau).
Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Lindenau (Howard); grandson, Collin Hovatter; parents, Peter and Irene (Draves) Lindenau; and brother, Richard Hook.
A Rosary will be 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024, with visitation for family and friends from 6-8 p.m at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London, Ohio, 44851. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 18 Park Ave., New London, Ohio, 44851. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home.
