Catherine A. "Cathy" Kinney, 68, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born July 4, 1954, in Norwalk, and was a 1972 graduate of Norwalk High School. She was co-owner and accountant of Prestige Pools in Norwalk. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing on Kenilee bowling leagues and tournaments. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and gardening.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Roger A. Kinney; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Ashley Kinney of Norwalk; mother, Betty Mirtes of Norwalk; grandchildren, Mason, Claire, Corynne, Myra, and Hudson; siblings, Linda Bowling, Diana (Lynn) Pack, Michael (Kathy) Mirtes, Brad (Tonya) Mirtes, Scott (Christina) Mirtes, and Julia Mirtes; special nephew, Tanner; and other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dick Sommers; and stepfather, Don Mirtes.

A celebration of life gathering will be at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.

My condolences to Cathy´s family, we grew up together on Olive St. Cathy was a sweetheart and wonderful to hang out with. Years later we bowled together, different teams, same league. Reuniting was easy, like we´d never been apart had 30 plus years of memories to share with one another. RIP Cathy.

Kathy will surely be missed by all that knew her. I grieve for Roger in his loss but know the years they spent together will keep the good memories foremost in his mind.

Our hearts were saddened to hear of Cathy´s passing. She was a very special friend to the Michael Angelas and David Thill family. Her love, kindness and compassion for others will always be remembered. Our deepest condolences to Roger and her family.
