Carl L. Baker Jr., 72, residing in Norwalk, passed away suddenly Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
Carl was born April 29, 1951, in Mansfield, to Carl L. Baker Sr. and Rosemary (Ernst) Young.
Carl retired from U.S. Army after 20 years of service as an ENT specialist. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, video games, gambling, reading westerns, and he was an avid reader. Most of all, he was a beloved grandfather and enjoyed his time with his grandchildren.
Carl is survived by his sons, Jacob (Debra) Baker of Carrollton, Kentucky, and Travis (Amy) Baker of Norwalk; grandchildren, Kora (Blake) Manley, Erica Baker, Carl Baker, Carla (Derek) Shaver, and Travis Baker Jr.; great-grandchildren, Rose, Clay, Cynthia, Trenton, Melanie, Tucker, and Sonny Lee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Nancy and Carol.
Visitation for friends will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023, until the time of Carl's funeral at 11 a.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, with Kristy Bahnsen presiding. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, with military honors by American Legion of Sandusky.
