Barbara Ann (Schaefer) Boyer, 82, of Wakeman, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, after a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 20, 1941, in Elyria, to Leo and Frances (Krystowski) Schaefer. Barbara graduated from Elyria Catholic High School. She was employed as a legal secretary at Lynch & White for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, painting, scrapbooking, socializing with her high school friends, and playing cards.
Barbara is survived by her children, Dale (JoAnne) Boyer of Norwalk, Mark (Jennifer) Boyer of Lebanon, Carol (Scott) Perkins of Wakeman, Michael (Diane) Boyer of Delaware, Ohio, and Thomas (Leah) Boyer of Wakeman; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, George (Anne) Schaefer, Joan (Jim) Seabold, and Mary (Jim) Grace; sister-in-law, Eileen Rigg; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Boyer; daughter, Theresa Boyer; and brother, Dan Schaefer.
Visitation for friends will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Toft Funeral Home, Wakeman Chapel, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman. Barbara's funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 24, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 46 E. Main St., Wakeman, with Father Ron Brickner presiding. Burial will follow at a later date.
Those wishing to contribute to Barbara's memory may do so to the church.

Barb was a lovely lady. She was a wonderful neighbor on Abbott St. She cared deeply about her faith, family, and caring about others when in need. My parents and I thought the world of her!
She did a superb job as a mother.
