Barbara M. "Barbie" Barman passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Barbie was born Sept. 4, 1953, in Huron, to Rodney Lewis and Sarah (Lane) Lewis. Barbie grew up in Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1973. Growing up, she loved to buzz the ave with her friends. She was a lover of music and dancing all throughout her life. Blasting music and jamming to Madonna, Phil Collins, and anything with a beat that she could move her feet too. When she wasn't dancing, she loved to decorate her home for every holiday. No holiday was too big or too small. Decorating was a true passion of hers. Her home was her canvas and the inside and outside felt of magic. Brushed through every room was walls filled with pictures, knick-knacks, and holiday décor of every sort. She always had her creative eye set anywhere. She would go from seeing someone's trash on the side of the road and to turning it into a work of beauty. Her passion was going to thrift and antique stores to find treasures that she would repurpose. She was a fierce fighter for her family and her children.

Barbie is survived by her children, Christopher (Kathy) Barman, Kevin (Gretchen) Barman Sr., Erik (Jennifer) Braddock, Rebecca (Ben) Newland, Clint (Kelly) Braddock, and Kimberly (Steven Sr.) Shuttlesworth; siblings, Tom Lewis, Jenny Weegman, Betsy Perry, Becky Coulter, and Kathy Lewis; 19 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, Steve Barman; mother, Sarah Lewis; and father, Rodney Lewis.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.
