Karen Marie (Thomas), (Perry), (Strobel), Johnson, 77, of Sandusky, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Firelands Regional Medical Center.

She was born May 6, 1948, in White City, Florida, to the late Burton J. and Kathryn (Johnson) Thomas.

Karen was employed as a florist for many years, working at several local florists. Her floral design led her to Chicago, where she worked at Rolling Meadows Flower Shop, became a nanny, and even met her loving husband. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, and cherished visiting with friends, spending time with family and loving on her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Charles "Dale" Johnson whom she married, March 7, 1993; her children, Jeffrey Perry, Kristina (David) Whapham, Michele (Robert) Shean, Daniel (Rosie) Perry, and Dave Portner; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; her brother, Sonny (Ada) Thomas; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husband, Reverend James Strobel and her sister, Kathy Clark.

At her request, cremation will take place. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of memorial service at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave. Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
