Dr. Alvin W. Burger, 73, of Norwalk, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, at Twilight Gardens Nursing Home. He was Born Feb. 15, 1951, in Hamilton, the son of the late Eugene and Esther (nee Koch) Burger. Alvin grew up in the Hamilton and Oxford areas before attending The Ohio State University, where he obtained his doctorate in veterinary medicine in 1976.

Dr. Burger practiced veterinary medicine in Willard for roughly 20 years before he moved to the Akron/Canton area to practice. He raised and showed Draft Horses for many years. Alvin was a lifetime member of the Percheron Horse Association and celebrated 50 years of membership in 2021. He also raised and sold Jack Russell Terriers.

Survivors include his children, Dr. Ryan Burger, Allyson (Leopoldo) Valadez and Renee (Andrew) Ware, all of Willard; grandchildren, Braxtyn Burger, Chase Fulton, Adalyn Michalski and Ava Ware; and a brother, Dale (Sandy) Burger, of Oxford, OH.

At this time, no services are scheduled. Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home is assisting the family.
