Alice A. Babcock, 91, of New Haven, Ohio, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2022, at Blossom Nursing Rehabilitation, Willard, with her husband at her side.

She was born Sept. 25, 1931, in North Fairfield, to the late Wayne and Ethel (Cole) McPherson.

Alice was a 1949 graduate of North Fairfield High School. After earning her LPN degree, Alice made a career of over 40 years beginning at Norwalk Hospital and later at Willard Hospital. She worked in O.B. and the geriatric ward and finished her career with Quality Care in Willard.

Alice enjoyed traveling, sewing, and cooking, and she made a great elderberry pie. She was a faithful member of New Haven United Methodist Church. Alice was very active with the church and a dedicated servant of the Lord.

Alice married the love of her life, Richard E. Babcock, on April 14, 1950, and he survives. Alice is also survived by her children, David (Diane) Babcock and Kevin (Mary Ellen) Babcock; daughter-in-law, Connie (Virgil) Babcock; grandchildren, Joshua, Garrett, Elizabeth, and Anna; great-grandchildren, Makayla, Madelyn, Delaney, Samson, Missy, Jaxson, and Ariana; great-great-grandchildren, Paisley and another on the way; sister, Helen Boulis; and many nieces and nephews.

She ias preceded in death by two sons, Glenn Babcock and Virgil Babcock; and two sisters, Doris Knittel and Katherine Statzer.

Visitation will be 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at Secor Funeral Home, Willard. Alice's funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Ted Buehl officiating and burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven.
