Sandusky
Walter Lee Poole III, 70, of Sandusky, went to his heavenly home Saturday, April 1, 2023, at The Toledo Hospital.
He was born July 31, 1952, in Sandusky, to the late Walter and Nettie Poole and graduated from Sandusky High School.
Walter was employed by Barr Rubber, Vermilion Foam, and retired from Ford Motor Company, Sandusky.
He was an amazing pool player and member of many pool leagues, winning numerous trophies. Walter never missed an opportunity to be on any dock trying to catch the big one, but barbecuing was his real passion and he opened Walt Daddy's Chicken and Rib House, his biggest accomplishment that he was so proud of.
Walter leaves to mourn his passing his sons, Isaac (Aaronica) Poole of Columbus and Walter Poole IV of Sandusky; sisters, Donna (Robert) Casteel and Gail (Floyd) Matthews, both of Sandusky; grandchildren, Audri Nicole Johnson, Alysa Nicole Poole, Darius Lamont Poole, Chance Lee Poole, and Tiana Schultz; several nieces and nephews; long-time companion, Alma Pearson; and extended family, Keisha (Marcus) Matthews, Tara Pearson, Iniko (Mary) Pearson, Mechayla Matthews, Marcus S. Matthews, Myasia Matthews, Azarion Myers, Nevaeh Pearson, and Arieahna Pearson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Matthews; and niece, Dionne Conway.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2023, until the time of Walter's funeral at 12 p.m. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Minister Howard Carr will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.

Walter was my 2 nd cousin and all I can remember is all the great times we all shared as a family. The time he fell through the ceiling as a kid I rolled all over the floor laughing. I will miss you cousin. There will always be a special place in my heart for you. Condolences to the Poole family.

Walt and I played together on my first pool league team at the Pump. After league, we always shot pool. He was always a class individual. I will miss him. Thank you for everything.
