Virginia K (Hitchcock) Pollack, 101, residing in Norwalk, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 7, 2025 at home peacefully.

Virginia was born October 23, 1923, in Sandusky to the late Charles Thomas and Edith Mae (Biddle) Hitchcock.

Virginia graduated from Sandusky High School in the class of 1941. She was employed as a secretary at Periodical Publishing, worked at Lower Lake Docks, and switchboard operator at Citizens Bank. Virginia was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She stayed busy working various jobs and being involved at her church, including Helping Hearts Ministry and bible study, Sandusky Harlequins, and swimming multiple times a week at the YMCA or Rec.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Gwen Pollack of Norwalk; son, Jeffrey R. (Rhonda) Pollack of Milan; grandchildren, Kristen Pollack and Lauren (Danny) Dreisbach; two great-grandchildren, Landen Pollack and Ella Dreisbach; one half sister, Lorrie M. Hupp of Sandusky; two half brothers, Roger Hitchcock of Sandusky and Nelson Hitchcock of Sandusky; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by husband, Owen Karl Pollack, in 1989; stepmom, Idella Hitchcock; brother, Walter Hitchcock; sister, Aline Hlasten Pasley; one half sister, Lata Ritter.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2025, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Friends may also call from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave. Sandusky, with Pastor Michael Conklin presiding. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
