Dr. Thomas W. Kellar, 76, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Delmar Villa Memory Care/Assisted Living Facility in Delmar, Maryland.
He was born May 29, 1948, in Sandusky to Warren and Jean (Baun) Kellar.
Thomas graduated from Bellevue High School in 1966. He was a Marine veteran who proudly served our country from 1967 to 1973. Dr. Kellar graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Kent State, a master's degree in psychology, and was awarded a doctoral in psychology (PsyD) from The University of Akron, Akron, Ohio.
He was a professor at The University of Akron for 10 years. Thomas was a member of American Legion Sandusky No. 83; VFW No. 3747, Canton; Fraternal Order of Eagles, Louisville, Ohio; and a member of Mogadore Moose No. 1082, Magadore, Ohio. In his spare time, he enjoyed running in local races for charities and special events.
Thomas is survived by his son, Troy Kellar; daughter, Angela (Douglas) Besse; three sisters, Judy (Ken) Kellar-Donovan, Susan (Jim) Lindenberger, and Connie Jones; and two stepsisters, Jean (Tom) King and Rita June (Bruce) Baker. Thomas has six grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Toft Funeral Home, Hinman Chapel, 38 South St., Berlin Heights. Funeral service begins at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Berlin Heights, Ohio.
