Shirley A. Nickoli, 88, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family Sunday, January 4, 2026. She was born January 26, 1937, to Leonard and Lucillie (Grosswiler) Sickinger in Norwalk.

A lifelong resident of the area, Shirley graduated from Monroeville High School and was a devoted member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Shirley and her husband, Donald Nickoli, shared a wonderful 62 years of marriage together. She worked for 42 years as a finisher at Norwalk Furniture. Shirley will be remembered for her warmth, vibrant personality, and zest for life. She was an active and devoted presence in her children's and grandchildren's lives, attending every activity she could. Shirley loved shopping with her sister, Evelyn, visiting casinos, and spending time with friends at the senior center. In her spare time, she enjoyed needlepoint artwork and cherished time with her beloved dog, Scooter.

She is survived by her daughters, Elaine (Jeff) Schaffer and Sue (Tony) Caprara; her grandchildren, Nicole Pannell, Chad (Andrea) Welfle, Derek (Mckenzie) Schaffer, Daniell (Kelly) Still, Brett (Dawn) Welfle, Kayla (Shaun) Lanphair, Craig (Kim) Caprara, Alicia (Kevin) McGraw, and Bethany (Chris) Jarrett; and 22 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Evelyn (Paul) Ott and Pam (Ed) Hoon.

She was preceded in passing by parents, Leonard and Lucillie (Grosswiler) Sickinger; her husband, Donald Nickoli; and siblings, Edward Sickinger, Sonny Sickinger, and Lucille Sickinger.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main St., Norwalk. Private burial will take place at a later date.
