Sandra Miller Obituary

Sandra M. "Sandy" Miller

Jul 18, 1945 - Nov 10, 2025

Norwalk

Sandra "Sandy" Mae Miller, 80, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully Monday, November 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Sandy was a woman defined by her kindness, strength, and the deep, unwavering love she held for those closest to her. As a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Norwalk and a believer in God, she lived her life with a gentle faith that showed through in the way she cared, for, nurtured, and welcomed others into her home. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1963, a place where she made friendships and memories that stayed with her throughout her life.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Sandy built a life full of warmth and love with her husband, Bill Miller, and their family. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Gorniak, and son-in-law, John Gorniak; her granddaughters, Jaiden and Ella; and her stepchildren, Tim Miller and Lisa Fears, all of whom she loved deeply and without hesitation.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Stutzman; her mother, Genevieve Stutzman (Murray); and her brother, Duane Stutzman. Their memory remained deeply held in her heart throughout her life.

Sandy had a special ability to make a house feel like home. Her beautifully kept home reflected the care and pride she took in creating a place of peace and comfort. Her favorite color was purple, and she surrounded herself with simple, thoughtful touches (often from a local craft show) that made every space warm and welcoming. She was known for her delicious home-cooked meals-her goulash, sweet corn, and mashed potatoes were staples of family gatherings-and if you were lucky enough to be around at Christmas, you knew her cookies were truly one of a kind. If you gave her a ring on the phone, you could always count on sharing a good laugh with her witty humor and warm conversation. She loved deeply, welcomed all, and created beauty wherever she went-whether in her home, her garden, or the hearts of those she loved.

A service to honor and celebrate Sandy's life will be Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Her legacy is love, and it continues in the lives of her family. She will be forever cherished and deeply missed.

Always love going to get a Christmas trees with Sandy...We'd set it up and every year she'd Look at Bill, then say I swear it wasn't near that big when we cut it down

She would send the loveliest cards and notes at Christmas or after she had visited. They were sincere and warm.
