Rose DeNardo Obituary

Rose Korona DeNardo

Sep 13, 1924 - Mar 19, 2025

Norwalk

Rose Korona DeNardo, 100, formerly of Masontown, Pennsylvania, died peacefully at Norwalk Memorial Home, Norwalk, Ohio, Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

She was born September 13, 1924, in Wynn, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Albert Korona and Antoninia Zawilinsky.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Vincent Daniel DeNardo; brothers, Joseph Korona, Frank Korona, and Walter Korona; and sisters, Sophia Korona Kosnoski and Helen Korona Bill.

Surviving is a son, Tony (Dennis) DeNardo and wife Donna (Gunderson) of Fish Creek, Wisconsin; daughter, Renee Kluding and husband Tom of Norwalk; three grandchildren, Cara DeNardo Williams and husband Michael, Melissa DeNardo and partner Daniel Phleger, and Thomas J. McGookey; three great-grandchildren, Maja Williams, Anja Williams, Arlo Rey DeNardo Phleger; and many nieces and nephews especially Frank (Bud) and Kathy Korona.

Rose was an active member of Confraternity of Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of Americas Court Masontown 1623, affiliated with St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (formerly All Saints), and Italian Women's Club in Masontown, Pennsylvania.

Rose resided at Fisher-Titus Carriage House Assisted Living, Norwalk, (right around the corner from her daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Tom Kluding) since July 2019. Fondly called "Resilient Rose," she enjoyed the activities and friendships of her Carriage House family. Rose loved the staff and said it was "one of the best decisions she has ever made."

Our family extends special thanks to Norwalk Memorial Home staff, Southern Care Hospice Services, and ACC Adult Home Care, who made her last few weeks comfortable.

Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, Norwalk, assisted with the preparation and transportation to Pennsylvania.

Family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Stephen R Haky Funeral Home, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, PA. Celebration of Life Mass will be at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 101 West Church Avenue, Masontown, PA.
