Phyllis D. Sheidler

Bloomville
Phyllis Dawn Sheidler of West Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home Oct. 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, ready to rejoice with her Lord and Savior.
Phyllis was born in Wilson Ridge, Clay County, West Virginia, at her family home alongside her twin brother, Phillip David "Buckshot," just 12 minutes apart. She was the eighth of ten children born to Bessie "Ruth" Phillips Butcher and Lloyd Butcher.
She married George A. Holden on Nov. 13, 1964, and later divorced and they together had three children, Detective Mark Holden deceased, Deborah (Chris) Carter, and William (Brenna) Holden. After George's passing, Phyllis found love again, and married Eldon Duane Sheidler on Jan. 15, 1989, gaining three more sons, Alan (Sara) Sheidler, Randy (Christina) Sheidler, and Larry (Jan) Miller, a daughter-in-law, Shelley Holden, 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Zella Jean Williams, Janet Veith and Sherry (Kermit) Oxley.
Phyllis and Eldon enjoyed their lives on the farm, working the ground, planting and harvesting their fields, and tending to their livestock. She was a hardworking woman who filled many roles throughout her life. She grew up helping her father and brothers in their garage, fixing cars and running the family wrecker. Phyllis worked for the Norwalk Police Department for a few years. She also took on various other jobs, including working in factories around Norwalk, cleaning homes, and caring for patients in hospitals and nursing homes in Sandusky, Milan, and Norwalk. She also provided foster care to seven children and offered babysitting services to local families.
Phyllis was deeply blessed and proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, which filled her life with love and joy. She cherished her family, including many beloved nieces, nephews, and foster children who thought of her as their "bonus" mother and grandmother.
Her treasured pets, Daisey, Abby, Little Girl, and Lucy will carry on her memory and continue to bring joy to those around them, just as she did for many years.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Detective Mark Holden; four brothers, Lloyd Butcher Jr., Robert, Ronald and Philip "Buckshot" Butcher; two sisters, Judy Cantrell and Jenny Moore.
The family is grateful for the support of their community during this difficult time.
