Patricia L. Dee, 94, of New London, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, at Norwalk Memorial Home surrounded by her family. She was born April 22, 1928, in Hartford City, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Lula (nee Summerville) Casterline.
She was a 1947 graduate of Hartford High School. She worked in customer service for several years, but her main focus was her family. She loved being with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her younger days, in Hartford City, were spent playing tennis, ice skating, roller skating, and bowling. She was honored as Queen of the Jobs Daughters. The Dee family owned and operated a small restaurant at the airport in Hartford City for a short time before moving to Carol Stream, Illinois, in 1963. In 1970, Patricia moved to New London with her husband and five children. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in New London, where she was a past member and vice president of Alter and Rosary Society. Patricia was a past member and president of New London Garden Club as well. Patricia loved spending time with her family. Her favorite yearly event was the Dee Family reunion, also known as Run-A-Muck where she was deemed to be the "First Lady."
Patricia is survived by her children, Greg (Cathy) Dee of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Nancy (Rick) Copsey of Ludington, Michigan, and Amy (Alan) Cawrse of Fitchville; daughter-in-law, Lynn Dee of Amherst; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Patricia Dee of Hartford City, Indiana. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dee Sr.; sons, Timothy Dee and Robert Dee Jr.; siblings, Dorothy Krueger, Nedra Dee, Betty Campbell, and Harry "Donnie" Casterline; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Dee.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 18 Park Ave., New London, where Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed beginning at 9:30 a.m. prior to visitation.
