Michael J. "Mike" Kennedy, 78, of Clyde, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at The Bellevue Hospital.
Mike was born Oct. 1, 1945, in Norwalk, the son of Frank J. and Ruth E. (Penick) Kennedy.
Mike graduated from Norwalk High School in 1963. He was an over-the-road truck driver for most of his life, retiring from Norwalk Furniture Corporation in 2008. Mike loved to golf and had a hole-in-one on No. 7 at Green Hills Golf Course. He loved to spend time laughing with his family and friends and kicking back with a few adult beverages. He was loved dearly by his family and will be greatly missed.
Mike is survived by his wife, Jeannine (DeWalt) Kennedy; daughter, Michele (Randy) Lemery of Florida; stepsons, Kevin (Brittany) Gressman of Clyde and Max (Mia) Gressman of Texas; grandchildren, Aiden Gressman, Jordan Gill, and Garrett Lemery; great-grandchildren, Zayn and Charli Gill; sisters, Dianne (Walter) Schubert, Laura (James) Draper, and Pat (Joe) Bader; brothers-in-law, John (Dawn) DeWalt and Sam (Marilyn) DeWalt; and many nieces and nephews. Mike is also survived by his furry four-legged baby girl, Sophie, who will miss Daddy terribly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, William "Bill" Kennedy.
Services will be private.
Memorial donations may be made in Mike's honor to Humane Society of Sandusky County, 1315 N. River Rd., Fremont, Ohio, 43420, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
