Maureen "Mo" Stibil

Maureen "Mo" Stibil, 80, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Monday, April 17, 2023.

Mo was born Nov. 3, 1942, in Canton, to the late Caroline (Wolf) Sullivan and Edward Sullivan. She was a proud resident of Norwalk for more than 50 years. Mo was employed as a telecommunications manager for over two decades with GTE/Verizon. In the next two decades, she was a nationwide telecommunications contractor for GTE/Verizon, even though some members of her family believed that was a cover and she actually worked for the CIA. Mo was an avid animal lover, "foodie," and wine connoisseur, often indulging in the sun with a glass of wine and a good book.

She enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe, Hawaii, and Hatteras Island later in life. Mo enjoyed discovering new restaurants and wineries in northern Ohio with her husband, Chaz. She loved to host people in her home especially for wine tastings. Mo's family will remember her holiday feasts and extravagant seasonal décor.

Mo is survived by her daughter, Laura; two granddaughters, Tara (Wayne) Babington and Sydney (Matthew Pulaski) Schlessman, both of Cleveland; three great-grandchildren, Shawn, River, and Elodie; sisters, Barbara Skaros and Karen Sacilowski; and bonus son, Brian Schlessman.

In addition to her parents, Mo was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck "Chaz" Stibil, who passed in 2015; daughter, Lisa Stibil, who passed in 2015; son in infancy, Jodi; and beloved K9 companion, Bailey.

Cremation will take place and no services will take place at this time.

A celebration of life will be announced and take place this summer.
