Luke Brown Obituary

Luke Dustin Brown

Jul 3, 2003 - Apr 26, 2025

Norwalk

Luke Dustin Brown, 21, of Norwalk, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 26, 2025. Born July 3, 2003, Luke was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. His vibrant spirit, kind heart, and infectious smile touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

A 2022 valedictorian graduate of Norwalk High School, Luke was admired for his intelligence, drive, and humility. He was a junior at Ohio University in the Honors Tutorial College, studying Translational Health, and had been accepted into OUHCOM Medical School, a testament to his dedication and passion for pursuing a career in medicine. Luke's academic journey reflected his deep desire to make a meaningful impact in the world and to help others.

Luke had a deep love for his church and lived out his faith through action. He was actively involved in youth outreach, dedicating time to mentoring, encouraging, and uplifting younger members of his community. He also found joy and purpose in track, cross country, and band, giving his all, whether on the field or in performance. He also enjoyed time with his family as a member of 4-H, showing cattle at the county fair. Luke was a passionate volunteer who found meaning in serving others and bringing light where it was needed most.

He is survived by his parents, Dustin and Jennifer Brown; his siblings, Austin and Kameron Brown, Wyatt and Claire Brown, and Ethan Brown; his grandparents, Keith and Becky Chapin, Mike and Theresa Brown. He is also remembered with love by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be 10-2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church, 21 Firelands Blvd, Norwalk. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastors James Hodsden and Joe Binkley officiating. A reception will follow, and private interment will be at a later date at Olena Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.

Memorial contrib-tions may be sent to the family for a scholarship in Luke's name.

Luke's light burned bright, and though his time with us was far too short, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

I know Luke's grandfather, Keith Chapin. Keith and I were in the same grades from 1st -12th.

My wife and I are sad to learn about Luke even though we never met him. We both have lost family members over the years, young like Luke and older. It's a hard time to live thru.

One afternoon, I was sitting alone at a college event when a tall man I didn´t know sat beside me. With a warm smile, he asked how I was doing and struck up a conversation for 10-15 minutes. That man was Luke Brown. Though we had just met, his kindness made it one of the warmest conversations I´ve ever had. It was a brief moment, but its warmth stays with me, and I´ll always remember Luke´s genuine spirit.

I was blessed to lead a Bible study with Luke the last couple of years. His love for learning, for people, and for Jesus were all incredibly on display in his life. He was unapologetically himself in the most humble way. It was a privilege to know him and be known by him.

Luke was a great friend of mine at Ohio University. When I first joined Cru, he was one of the first people to get to know me. We would meet at least once a week to talk about faith, life, and class. He was always an encouragement to me and helped me grow closer in my walk with Jesus.
