Larry "Jake" Jacobs, 77, of Willard, passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.

He was born Sept. 30, 1945, in Willard, to the late Lewis and Veva (Walker) Jacobs. He graduated from Willard High School and Tiffin University. Jake retired from RR Donnelley after 38 years of service, was a substitute teacher for 12 years, and formerly worked at Autozone for four years. He also formerly served on Willard City Council for 28 years. Jake had other duties in life such as working for the mob, working for the circus, and being a dog trainer.

He is survived by his daughter, Sara Jacobs of Willard; son, John (Heather Duncan) Jacobs of Willard; two grandchildren, Paige Elmlinger of Austin, Texas, and Brenna Elmlinger of Willard; brother, Tom Jacobs of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Linda Jacobs and Billie Jean Traxler, both of Willard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jake was preceded in death by his wife, Gail (Bogner) Jacobs; six brothers, Ted, Fred, Bob, Dan, Jim, and Phil Jacobs; and sister, Donna Newland.

Friends may call 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, at Secor Funeral Home, Willard, until the time of Jake's service at 6 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Buchanan officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery, Willard.
