Larry R. Figley, 91, of Ashland, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, at Kingston of Ashland.
He was born Feb. 18, 1932, in Butler Township, Richland County, to Ruth (Sparks) and Russell Figley. Larry was a 1950 graduate of Willard High School and owner and operator for Larry's Market and built boats in Bucyrus and Sandusky. He was a Master Mason since 1955 with lodges, Richland 201, Shelby 237 and Golden Rule 562. In his free time, he enjoyed building model airplanes and boats, taking still and motion pictures, and amateur radio.
Larry is survived by his wife of 64 years, Karen (King) Figley of Ashland; two children, Kristin (Les) Somsak of Ashland and Russell (Stephanie) Figley of Westerville; two grandchilden, Ben (Cierra) Somsak and Andy Somsak; brother, Dennis (Judy Henry) Figley of Olivesburg; sister-in-law, Ramona Figley of Willard; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Geraldine Winter and Elizabeth Lorene Diehl; brother, Gordon Lyle Figley; and granddaughter, Rachel Somsak.
There will be no services.
The staff of Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main Street, Greenwich, assisted family with arrangements.

Tom and I send our condolences on Larry's passing.
I have good memories of Larry taking the time to show me around the Greenwich Museum. He invited me over his home to see his personal memorabilia. He even made me a DVD of the pictures of old Greenwich. I will miss my friend.

Karen and family sorry for your loss, and to the Greenwich Historical Society
we have lost another member who really cared about the history of Greenwich, If not for Larry and Clark Hunter we would not have a museum, or as much history to explore in the museum. So, to you Larry I say thank you. Chuck Magill a true friend.
