Jordan Hicks Obituary

Jordan Madison Hicks

Mar 12, 1988 - Jan 27, 2024

Clyde

Jordan Madison Hicks, 35, of Clyde and formerly of North Fairfield, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at home.

He was born March 12, 1988, in Norwalk, to Steve and LaDonna (Oney) Hicks.

Jordan is survived by his parents; children, Ayva Hicks, Quentyn Hicks, and Bailey Hicks of Clyde; stepson, Hunter Fortune of Huron and their mother, Amanda Isaac of Norwalk; siblings, Ian Hicks of Greenwich and Emily (Caleb) Logan of Clyde; paternal grandparents, Johnnie and Cora Hicks of Greenwich; uncles, Kevin Hicks of Greenwich, Lanny (B.J) Whitaker of Ashland, and Linzie (Sally) Oney of Blairsville, Georgia; aunts, Judy (Richard) Starcher of Greenwich, Regina Noble of Greenwich, Regina Whitaker of Willard, Alma (Joe) Carney of North Fairfield, Rita (Dee) Bowling of New London, and April (Ron) Graves of New Bern, North Carolina; and many great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Virgil and Ruth Oney; aunt, Sarah Hicks; uncle, Dan Whitaker; aunt and uncle, Lou and Don Hall; first cousins, Claude Whitaker and Deanna Bowling; and good friend, Kory Hale.

Jordan graduated from South Central High School and EHOVE JVS in 2006. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from The University of Arizona. Jordan was employed at Brass Pelican, Holiday Lakes, where he had many friends and customers who adored him. He was formerly employed by Beacon Behavioral Health in Fremont as a drug and alcohol counselor.

Jordan loved classic rock and country music. He loved to play the guitar, enjoyed gardening, and art. He was a Cleveland Guardians, Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State fan.

Jordan loved deeply and unconditionally. His kids were his world. He loved his family, friends, his customers at the Brass, and clients that he counseled. He had struggles in his life, but fought them with his family's love and support. He found a way to use his experiences to help others through their struggles. He once said "Funny thing about life is the bad times never last forever and you are never holding on alone." He lived his life that way, always trying to be there for others.

We will miss you and love you always.

Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at Greenwich First Baptist Church, 96 Townsend St., Greenwich. Jordan's celebration of life will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at the church with the Rev. Gary Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jordan's family to assist with his children and may be mailed to Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London, Ohio, 44851.

Jordan would always sing and dance his heart out on shift. he would often mention how he´d felt like he should stop talking because he´d "talk to much & people wouldn´t want to listen" I enjoyed hearing his lovely voice. Jordan protected me always at work, and made sure I was okay. Anytime he´d see I wasn´t okay, he would help me to feel better about myself and remind me that life is so much more than to worrying about things. We´d always talk about god and go over bible verses because Jordan knew how much it meant to me and also him. His soul will be missed so much. Fly high Jordan
