John Dunchee Eastman, 93, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025, peacefully at The Willows at Bellevue. He was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

John was born August 3, 1932, in Dresden. He entered the Air Force, December 12, 1951, where he served as a plane mechanic. He was stationed throughout the world, but mostly spoke about his time when he was stationed in Japan. John joined Ford Motor Company, Sandusky Plant, working for 30 years. Upon retirement, he spent time with his family.

John was an active member of his community, volunteering for various organizations. He was an active member in Monroeville as a councilman. He was also an active member of American Legion in Monroeville, VFW in Bellevue, Eagles 490, APIC, Roby Lodge 534, and Scottish Rite.

John is survived by his children, Cora, Kelly, and Jay Eastman; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved his grandchildren, Nick(Brandi) James, Alex(Katie) James, Zack(Hailey) James, Sarah(Alex) Wilson, Jake Eastman, and Joe Eastman. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his great-grandchildren, Collins, Vivian, Lydia, Elliot, Charlotte, Axel, and Kade.

In his free time, John loved making holiday cheese and bread. He loved watching THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES, giving gifts of candy and flowers. John was known for always giving. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at The Willows at Bellevue for taking such great care of him.

A graveside funeral service with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025, at Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
