Jerry Crawford Obituary

Jerry Crawford

Mar 30, 1949 - Nov 12, 2022

Monroeville

Jerry Crawford, 73, of Monroeville, went home to Jesus on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022.

He was born March 30, 1949, in Norwalk, to Carl and Naomi (Barber) Crawford and was a 1967 graduate of Monroeville High School. Jerry served in U.S. Navy aboard the guided missile cruiser, USS Chicago CGâ€"11 from 1968-1972, doing three tours of duty to Vietnam.

He was employed by Monroeville Local Schools for 32 years, retiring in 2013.

He was a faithful attendee of The Foundation Church.

In his spare time, he enjoyed Wednesday night racing at Summit Motorsports Park, golfing, and going to car shows. But what brought him the most joy was spending time with his son, Jarrod, golfing or helping him whenever he needed it, and being "Paca" to his favorite granddaughter, Chloe.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 50 years, Alice (Krull) Crawford, whom he married Oct. 28, 1972; son, Jarrod Crawford of Monroeville; granddaughter, Chloe Crawford of Monroeville; brothers, Butch (Sherry) Crawford of California, Rick (Karen) Crawford of Norwalk, and Keith Crawford of California; sister, Nancy (Mike) Hite of Florida; special "brother," Tom (Shelia) Preston of Huron; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, until the time of Jerry's service at 1 p.m. at The Foundation Church, 535 State Route 20 East, Norwalk, with Pastor Bob Hudberg officiating.

A special thank you to Dr. Brian Murphy, Dr. Philip Engeler, and Nurse Anna Garcia for over 20 years of love and excellent care, and to all the other nurses for their love and kindness as they took care of Jerry these last two years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jerry's memory to The Foundation Church, 535 State Route 20 East, Norwalk, Ohio, 44857, Huron Prayer Path and Labyrinth, 646 Mariner Village, Huron, Ohio, 44839, Atten: Barb Ringle, or Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870.

My sister and I had the pleasure of meeting Jerry when our Uncle passed away. When we came to OH from Maryland he was always there to help us. We will miss his smile and that rubber snake he always scared is with. He will always hold a special place in our hearts.
RIP Jerry
