Jean Joan Bass Miner (nee Showers), 90, of Naperville, Illinois, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, in Naperville, Illinois. Jean was born in Norwalk, Ohio, April 23, 1934, to the late Charles Eugene and Grace Zelma Showers (nee Fewson).
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Lester Miner; her son, Kendall Arthur Bass; and her first husband, Wayne Stuart Bass.
She is survived by her dear sisters, Dr. Virginia G. Ingram of Englewood, Florida, and Claudia J. Drezga of Blairstown, New Jersey; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Jean graduated from Norwalk High School class of 1952 and Baldwin Wallace University class of 1957, receiving a degree in business administration. She worked as a fashion buyer for department stores and later as a real estate agent in Chicago. For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to Jean's life, memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be directed to First United Methodist Church of Norwalk, 60 West Main St. Norwalk, OH 44857. https://www.norwalkfirstumc.com/ or the charity of your choice.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2025, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL. Closing prayers will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Naperville Cemetery, 705 S Washington St, Naperville, IL.
