James Lamoreaux Obituary

James M. Lamoreaux

Dec 9, 1952 - Apr 22, 2024

Greenwich

James M. "Jim" Lamoreaux, 71, of Greenwich, lived his entire life on Boughtonville Road until his big move to Heaven on Monday, April 22, 2024.

He was born in 1952 to Dale and Wilma (Cole) Lamoreaux.

Jim was a 1971 graduate of South Central High School, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. After graduating, he enlisted in U.S. Air National Guard, where he spent six years serving his country. Jim worked construction, working several years at ACME Paving and Sealing. He retired as a Greenwich Village employee, where he proudly served his community.

Jim was an avid sports fan, rooting for Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians, and most importantly, South Central Trojans. His license plate indicated his loyalty as a fan of SC sports. He served on the SC football chain crew for 49 years, only ending his career due to his illness.

Jim's love of the Lord only intensified as his diagnosis of ALS progressed. He loved God, family, and friends. Jim's favorite place to be was in the woods, running his chainsaw, or driving his nieces and nephews on his 4-wheeler. His tractors were his prized possessions.

Jim is survived by his brother, Gene (Sandy) Lamoreaux; sister, Lucille (Dan) Hartman; sister, Linda Teglovic; sister, Denise (Michael) Robinson; sister, Lynette (Bryan) Hamman; brother, Frank (Kelly) Lamoreaux; 13 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Danielle; and nephew, Ryan S. Teglovic.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024, at New London Alliance Church, 4625 SR 162 East, New London. Jim's funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2024, at the church. Burial will follow at Edwards Grove Cemetery, Greenwich.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to South Central Athletic Department, 3305 Greenwich Angling Rd., Greenwich, or ALS Association of Northeast Ohio to help find a cure, 6133 Rockside Road, Unit 301, Independence, Ohio, 44131.

I remember Jim always being at all the football games from the time I was a cheerleader to the time my boys played football. He was a great guy and will be truly missed in our community!
