Gary Lee Wyckoff, 85, of New London, died peacefully Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin.
He was born March 6, 1939, in Piketon, to Charles E. and Etta Marie (Williams) Wyckoff. Gary moved to New London in 1974. Gary was a graduate of Piketon High School and later earned his Bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University. He worked for Firelands Electric as a manager for 26 years, retiring in February, 2001.
For many years, Gary was involved in the New London community, serving on Rotary and numerous other organizations. He was a member of the Church of Christ in New London for many years and later attended the Church of Christ in Ashland. He also served on the board of directors at Fort Hill Christian Youth Camp.
When Gary was not working or volunteering, he enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as golfing and traveling. Gary also cherished the time that he spent with his family, including his beloved wife, Judy (Brewster), and their children.
Left to cherish Gary's memory are his children, Tab (Shannon) Wyckoff of New London, Todd (Vicki) Wyckoff of Allen, Texas, and Scott (Lisa) Wyckoff of Florida; four grandchildren, Casey and Corey and Cameron and Acadia; sister, Nancy (Kenny) Gragg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy; parents; and siblings, Billy Wyckoff, Thelma (Roger) Dunn, and David (Nancy) Wyckoff.
Visitation for family and friends will be 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, Ohio, 44851. Gary's graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, at Mound Cemetery in his hometown of Pickton, Ohio.
Memorial donations may be sent to Fort Hill Christian Youth Camp, in care of Brett Triplett, treasurer, 2725 Bridlewood Street, Circleville, Ohio, 43113.
