She was a 1945 graduate of Sandusky High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from College of Wooster and her Master's of Education degree from The University of Toledo. Over the years, Eloise had taught for a short time at Sandusky High School and later taught science and physical education at St. Mary's High School for 20 years, where she was loved and respected by many of her students. She concluded her career in education as an assistant professor of Biology at Providence School of Nursing before retiring in 1997.

She was devoted to her family and very community-minded, having volunteered for Stein Hospice and Firelands Regional Medical Center and serving as a five-year Board member for the local American Cancer Society. In 2012, she was inducted into Sandusky St. Mary Central Catholic High School Achievement Hall of Fame.

She is survived by her family, David (Linda) Renwand of Sandusky, Beth (Michael) Frank of Sandusky, Donna (Joe) McPeek of Sandusky, William Renwand of Blissfield, Michigan and Julie (Mark Santi) Renwand of Sandusky; 11 grandchildren, Gina, Alex, Jennifer, Melissa, Joey, Christian, Michael, Grace, Tony, Danny and Andrew; 19 great-grandchildren, Braden, Gianna, Rose, Ava, Noah, Max, Ethan, Heidi, Clare, Oliver, Wesley, Ronan, Reagan, Margaret "Maggie," Gabe, Sadie, Patrick, Mary, and Daniel; a niece, Mary Ann (Bob) Slagle of McKeesport, Pennsylvania; a nephew, Tom (Sandra) Renwand of Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania; and her cousins in Italy, Maria Grazia, Fernanda, and Pierra.

Eloise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Dean C. Renwand, December 4, 2016; and a daughter, Margaret Renwand.
