Betty J. (Haker) Jackson, 81, of Wakeman, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.

She was born December 13, 1943 in Oberlin, Ohio, to Alton and Carrie (Leininger) Haker.

Betty graduated from Western Reserve High School in 1962. She worked in the Wakeman area for many years, serving her neighbors and friends. Betty was a member of the Lions Club. In her spare time, she loved reading her romance novels, crocheting, doing plastic canvas art, and spending time with her family. To Betty, her most important role in life was taking care of her Charlie and her grandkids.

Betty is survived by her husband, Charlie, whom she married October 6, 1962. She is also survived by her daughters, Lisa (Brian) Pleska of Norwalk, Lyn (Lee) Steinke of Springtown, Texas; grandsons, Brad (Alesia) Saunders and Kory Steinke; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence (Tony) Cesa and Margaret Riedy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her grandson, John Saunders; and brothers, Harold, Lester and Carl Haker.

Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday August 20, 2025, at Camden Cemetery, SR 20, Kipton, with Charles Livermore presiding.

Those wishing to contribute to Betty's memory may do so to a charity of the donor's choice.

Toft Funeral Home, Wakeman Chapel, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman, is handling arrangements.
