Bernita A. Weiss, 66, of Willard, passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022, at Willows at Willard. She was born Dec. 13, 1955, in Willard, to the late Oscar and Grethel (Back) Sallee. Bernita was a member of Carrothers Church of God of Prophecy. She liked to quilt, bake, read, and most of all, spend time with her grandchildren.
Bernita is survived by two children, Charissa (Antonio) Collier of Los Angeles, California, and Matt Weiss of Ashland, Ohio; four grandchildren, Caprio Collier, Brooklyn Collier, Jaden Weiss, and Carson Weiss; seven brothers, Melvin (Joyce) Back of Florida, Frank (Norma) Sallee of Florida, Kelly (Mary) Sallee of Willard, Paul (Donna) Sallee of Florida, Ernie (Deb) Sallee of Shelby, Ohio, Larry Sallee of North Fairfield, and Dale (Vickie) Sallee of Crestline; two sisters, Jewel Sturgill of North Fairfield and Louise Adams of Marion, Ohio; sister-in-law, Connie Sallee of Attica; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Lester Weiss whom she married June 8, 1974; sister, Ella (Donnie) Gray; brother, Donnie Sallee; and two brothers-in-law, Raymond Adams and Ellis Sturgill.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, at Secor Funeral Home, Willard. Bernita's funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at the funeral home with Pastor Nathan Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Greenfield Township Cemetery in Steuben, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Carrothers Church of God of Prophecy.
