Agnes "Aggie" Louise Bettac, 85, of Willard, passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family following a short battle with colon cancer.
She was born June 8, 1937, in Willard, to Earl "Happy" Frederick Wilkinson and Louise Delores (Walker) Wilkinson and had lived her entire life here.
Aggie retired from MAPA Pioneer, formerly known as Pioneer Rubber Co. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and especially dominoes with her family along with her sisters, nieces, and grandchildren. She also loved planting and attending to her flowers.
Aggie liked to tell stories, travel, and took every opportunity she could to see her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Carroll Joseph "Joe" Bettac, whom she married Nov. 3, 1956; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy J. and Teresa (Brown) Bettac of North Fairfield and Daniel E. and Valerie (Hall) Bettac of Willard; three sisters, Pauline Steinmetz, Judy (Oliver) Mahl, and Sandra (Richard) Atkins, all of Willard; seven grandchildren, Josh Bettac, Allison Reynolds, Jamie Bettac, Joseph Bettac, Dillon Bettac, Logan Bettac, and Aaron Bettac; and eight great-grandchildren, Lily, Lauren, Kyrsten, Jacob, Wyatt, Zaven, Quinn, and Kipton.
In addition to her parents, Aggie was preceded in death by her son, David Earl Bettac; three sisters, Phyllis Goodsite, Lilla "Booty" Wilkinson, and Sally Wilkinson; two infant brothers, Lawrence Eugene Wilkinson and William Paul "Billy" Wilkinson; and two brothers-in-law, Chuck Goodsite and George Steinmetz.
Visitation will be 12-2 and 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023, at Secor Funeral Home, Willard. Aggie's funeral will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Dr. Ricky Branham officiating. Burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Willard.
