Carroll Joseph "Joe" Bettac, 88, of Willard, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, at Willard Mercy Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Feb. 27, 1935, in Plymouth, to Chester and Helen (Myers) Bettac. He was a four-sport athlete at Plymouth High School. He retired from Copperweld in Shelby. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and dominoes with family, and was a life-long Cleveland sports fan. He loved being around family and friends and frequently made stops at the local social clubs.
Joe is survived by his sons, Timothy J. and Teresa (Brown) Bettac of North Fairfield and Daniel E. and Valerie (Hall) Bettac of Willard; grandchildren, Josh Bettac, Allie Reynolds, Jamie Bettac, Joey Bettac, Dillon Betta, Logan Betta, and Aaron Bettac; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Lauren, Kyrsten, Jacob, Wyatt, Zaven, Quinn, Kipton, and Dean; and sisters-in-law he was close to, Pauline Steinmetz, Judy (Oliver) Mahl, and Sandra (Richard) Atkins, all of Willard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Louise Betta; son, David Earl Betta; brothers, Don, Gene, and Ted Bettac; and sisters, Delores Betta, Patricia Elmlinger, and Jeanette Compton.
Visitation for friends will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, at Secor Funeral Home, Willard. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at St. Francis Xavier Church, Willard. Burial for Joe along with Aggie and son, David, will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Willard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Southern Care Hospice.
