Wren Stumbo Obituary

Wren Annie Stumbo

Apr 22, 2020 - Jan 6, 2023

Plymouth

Wren Annie Stumbo was made whole in the arms of Jesus on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, age 2.5 years. She left this world suddenly and unexpectedly.

She was born April 22, 2020, to Joseph and Harley Stumbo.

Her fight for life began immediately, spending 12 days in the NICU. At just five months, she was diagnosed with alg6-CDG, a rare genetic condition that carries little hope. She showed us what a warrior she was again, pulling through a 72-day stay in the intensive care unit. Wren's story touched many souls. For her parents, she brought indescribable joy and taught them what it was to fully depend on the Lord. For others, she was a beacon of hope calling them back to their faith.

Everyone was drawn to Wren, especially children. While daily life in her broken body was hard, she was joyful. She loved to listen to music, commotion, the sounds of children playing, and especially her daddy's voice. The highlights of Wren's week were spent playing with her therapists: Kelly with her light up toys, Dana with her silly songs, and Elise with a new book, spending the night parties with Kiersten "Tierten" and Sunday evenings with Titi, uncle Heath and Alyssa, her nighttime baths, and a round or two of baby beluga with mom and dad. Wren was continually showered with love by everyone and brought joy to everyone she met.

Wren was preceded in death by an aunt, Sylvia M. Tackett; and maternal grandfather, Jerritt L. Tackett.

She is survived by her parents, Joseph and Harley Stumbo; little sister, Eliza Stumbo; paternal grandparents, Jeff and Marian Stumbo; maternal grandparents, Billy and Monica Robinson; aunts and uncles, Crystal (Heath) Caudill, Jeffrey Stumbo, Brennan (Libby) Robinson, Russell (Shelby) Robinson, Brandon Dye, Isaac Robinson, Marshall Robinson, Jaime (Nick) Swainhart, and Emiley (David) Robinson; great-grandparents, Johnny and Annie Tackett; and multiple great-aunts great-uncles as well as cousins.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 5-9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, at Church of God, 4551 Willard West Road, Willard. Additional visitation will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at the church. Wren's funeral will be 12 p.m. Tuesday at the church with Pastor Mike Harroll officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Willard.

The spiritual meaning of the Wren is one of determination, enthusiasm, change and happiness.
The Wren moves quickly and adapts to any new situation, often remaining unseen by others.
