Wilma Wood Obituary

Wilma Jean Wood

Nov 21, 1948 - Mar 21, 2025

Castalia, OH

Wilma Jean Wood, 76, of Castalia, passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her Friday, March 21, 2025. She was born in 1948, and lived in Paris, Kentucky, and moved to Ohio as a young girl. She was a 1967 graduate of Margaretta High School and belonged to Zion Lutheran Church.

To her family, she was a symbol of strength and resilience. She loved taking care of her family with laughter, good food, and a supportive strong presence. She never left her children's side or that of her loving husband whom she married April 7, 1995. To her, they were everything. In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening with a great love for roses and lilacs. She also enjoyed artful expressions in her crochet and painted ceramics. You never had to wonder what she was thinking as she had a particular skill in letting you know.

She is survived by her husband of almost 30 years, Bill Wood; four children, Frank (Gen) Bogoni, Mary (Jack) Colvin, Dan Bogoni, and Mark (Heather) Wood; twelve grandchildren, Joe, Nick, Melissa, Aaron, Olivia, Bella, Morgan, Aurora, Logan, Anthony, Angelina, and Bryce; five great-grandchildren, Reagan, Evelyn, Bentley, Braelynne, and Amy; two siblings Charlotte McFarlin and Dennis (Mary Lou) Rowe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by both of her parents, Floyd and Geneva Rowe; a brother, James Rowe; a brother-in-law, David McFarlin; and multiple beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Pastor Mike Conklin will officiate. Burial will be at Castalia Cemetery.

Memorial contributions could be made to Back to the Wild (Castalia, OH), SouthernCare Hospice Services (Milan, OH), or Margaretta Township Fire Department.
